Our Historic Library building needs your help!

Our historic, two-story brick building has been around for over 100 years. In those 100 years many repairs, renovations and restorations have occurred. We find that it is once again time to spend time and money fixing the exterior of the building. This work includes pointing, replacing and rebuilding brick, new coping stones, caulking, repairing flashing and more.

This work is very costly, estimated at over $200,000.00. We are asking that our community help us reach out to District 48 Senator Patty Ritchie. The library trustees and director have already done so. The more they hear from us, the more likely we are to get the assistance we need to keep our library standing!

Please consider stopping in and signing your name to a pre-written letter, or filling out a letter that’s ready for you- we will then send all the letters at once. You can also write to her yourself at 188 State Street, Legislative Office Building Room 302 Albany, NY 12247.

On this page are photos of the areas that need attention. Take a walk around the exterior of the building and see for yourself. We want to get this work completed immediately so that we may continue to serve our community. Without the building there is no library, no community room and place for Zumba, AA, Story Hour, free wireless internet, and so much more
